Mike Allen, Pastor

I moved to San Francisco at the age of 10 when my dad was called to be the pastor of Calvary Baptist Church.  I grew up at Calvary and graduated from San Francisco Christian in 1987.  I attended Bible college where I met my wife Stacey.  We were married and God has given us four kids.

After serving as an assistant pastor and pastor in Michigan over the course of nearly 14 years, God moved our family to join the staff of Calvary in 2004.  Through a course of God-ordained events, God led my dad to resign as senior pastor and the church called me to be the pastor.

My wife and I are excited to minister in San Francisco.  We count it a privilege to be a part of such a diverse community of believers who truly desire to see God work in and through them.

I have a passion to preach the Word of God expositionally and a desire to see believers grow in their walk with the Lord as they grow in grace.  I desire to see people with no knowledge of God's gift of salvation, put their faith and trust in Him.

I have a love for reading and enjoy riding my road bike.  I enjoy experiencing life with my wife especially when coffee is involved.  We look forward to many years of ministering and living in San Francisco.

Nathan Brewer, Music Leader

Though I was born in San Francisco and accepted Christ while in 1st grade at San Francisco Christian School, I actually grew up in Albania as a missionary kid for ten years.

I returned to America to attend Bible University and recently graduated in May of 2015 with a degree in Music Education and a minor in Photography.

It has been my privilege to serve in Calvary’s music ministry as an intern during the summers of 2010-2014, and I now look forward to seeing how God will use me as I serve full-time ministering through music at Calvary.

Hector Henriquez, Spanish Pastor

In 1988, as I was waiting for a bus to go home from work, God touched my heart and guided me to a nearby church in San Salvador. That same day I accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior. A few years later, as I was studying Mechanical Engineering in the National University of El Salvador, Jesus guided me to know him more personally through Bible study. He led me to leave my studies and enter seminary where after four years, I graduated with a degree in Biblical and Theological Studies.

Immediately after graduating, the Lord called me to become a Bible teacher. He has given me the privilege of teaching in a seminary, of preaching, of marriage counseling, and of church planting. In 2005, my family and I moved to San Francisco where I taught at Golden Gate seminary for four years in a program developed in local churches. My family and I have been members of Calvary Baptist Church since 2009 where God has allowed me to serve as a teacher and a deacon. In 2015, guided by the Lord, we started a Spanish Sunday service as part of the Spanish ministry.

In the midst of all the responsibility that comes with serving our eternal God, I enjoy reading the Bible and meditating on it as I walk, preferably surrounded by nature. I am looking forward to witness how God will use our congregation, my family, and myself for his purpose.
