This year we are working on memorizing Psalm 19.
This month we are memorizing verses 11-12.
"Moreover, by them is your servant warned;
in keeping them there is great reward.
Who can discern his errors?
Declare me innocent from hidden faults."

GROWTH PROJECT:

▪️ Are you willing to enter the Love J-Curve, knowing it means entering the Suffering J-Curve too?
▪️ Where are you getting stuck, where are you failing to depend on the Spirit to lead you through?
▪️ Are you giving up too soon, before you experience the resurrection power Christ wants to work in you and in those around you?

"And being found in human form, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross. Therefore God has highly exalted him and bestowed on him the name that is above every name, so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father." Philippians 2:8-11

On Sunday, June 21, Pastor Mike focused our hearts on the cost of love, how loving as Jesus loves means following Him down into the J-Curve: giving up self, incarnating into the lives of others, and trusting that resurrection comes on the other side of the suffering.

BIG IDEA: Choosing the mind of Jesus, to love as Jesus loves, guarantees that we will suffer and experience His resurrection.

Where are you holding onto control, rather than trusting God, so that you can avoid suffering as you love others?

"Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus, who, though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped, but emptied himself, by taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men."

On Sunday, June 14, Pastor Mike focused our hearts on the cost of love, continuing our series in Philippians: A Work of Christ. Christ gives us His very own mind in salvation, and we are called to actively live in it: to love as He loves. But loving with the mind of Christ means giving up self. It means going lower, releasing control, and trusting the Father even when love leads us into suffering.

BIG IDEA: Choosing the mind of Jesus, to love as Jesus loves, guarantees that we will suffer and experience His resurrection.
