"How do you interpret the challenges of life? Are you viewing life through the sovereignty of God or through the bad choices of anger, jealousy, bitterness, and hate? Your choices do matter."

"Now Joseph was governor over the land. He was the one who sold to all the people of the land. And Joseph’s brothers came and bowed themselves before him with their faces to the ground. Joseph saw his brothers and recognized them, but he treated them like strangers and spoke roughly to them. "Where do you come from?" he said. They said, "From the land of Canaan, to buy food." On Sunday, August 17th, we had a joyful time of praise and worship as we focused on how our "Choices Matter" from Genesis 42-45.
Pastor showed us through 5 points how Joseph's brothers allowed a lack of trust in God's sovereignty to keep them from seeing the blessings of life.

BIG IDEA: Our acceptance of God’s sovereignty will determine how we interpret our life experiences.

Do you cry out to the Lord when you are facing tough things? Do you ask God the hard questions?

Psalm 27:7-8 our memory verse for July says, "Hear, O Lord, when I cry aloud; be gracious to me and answer me! You have said, "Seek my face." My heart says to you, "Your face, Lord, do I seek."

This verse focuses our hearts on the truth that God desires us to seek His face and to bring all of our hurts, pains, questions, praises & joys to Him. It reminds us that we can ask God the hard questions and be reminded that He is always working for His glory and our good.

Join us in continuing to memorize Psalm 27:1-6
1 The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear?
The Lord is the stronghold of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?

On Sunday, June 22nd, We had a lovely time of fellowship before our Worship Service.

During our Worship Service, Pastor challenged us from Genesis 31:31 "Jacob answered and said to Laban, “Because I was afraid, for I thought that you would take your daughters from me by force." Pastor then walked us through 5 people in Genesis who had 7 different responses to fear and how they should have responded in response to trusting God.

He focused our hearts on the BIG IDEA that "Trusting God’s sovereignty allows us to move forward in the face of our fears."

What are you facing today that you can see God's hand leading you through? What in your life has God given you the strengthen and courage to face through His strength? When you are facing trouble, struggles or trials do you thank the Lord with joy and praise His name?

Psalm 27:6 our memory verse for June says, "And now my head shall be lifted up above my enemies all around me, and I will offer in his tent sacrifices with shouts of joy; I will sing and make melody to the Lord."

This verse focuses our hearts on the praise and joy that we give to the Lord for His protection and faithfulness in our lives. Christ will give us more than we can handle on our own, so we look to His strengthen and depend on Him in all circumstances.

Join us in continuing to memorize Psalm 27:1-6
1 The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear?
The Lord is the stronghold of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?
2 When evildoers assail me to eat up my flesh,
my adversaries and foes, it is they who stumble and fall.
3 Though an army encamp against me, my heart shall not fear;
though war arise against me, yet I will be confident.
4 One thing have I asked of the Lord, that will I seek after:
that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life,
to gaze upon the beauty of the Lord and to inquire in his temple.
